Bruce Crisman

2001 was the year I really got into bmx. I'd already had a bmx bike for a couple years but in 2001 I actually started riding dirt and flatland every day and trying to learn tricks. I was also buying every magazine I could at the time and there was a big build-up towards the X-games in my mind. It seemed like the best competition of the year.

Bruce Crisman did really well and won the "street" division. He had to pedal around for a long time; each run goes for a minute. I probably would have got tired or fallen over during that time. Alistair Whitton was in his prime and came second. I don't think he has learnt any new tricks since 2001 but I guess it's cool he still tries to be pro.
